The Vale & Ward Files

Detective Cassandra Vale has hyperthymesia, or perfect autobiographical memory. She remembers every crime scene she's worked, every victim she's tried to help, and every case that went cold.

When she partners with Detective Ethan Ward to create a Cold Case Division, they take on the investigations nobody else wants: forgotten victims, buried evidence, and cases the system tried to forget.

Each book is a complete mystery. Read in order and you also get the arc: Cass and Ward building the division, and the conspiracy that turns out to run through Cass's own past.

BOOK 1: THE ECHO MAN. A killer recreates famous cold cases, forcing Cass to confront a twenty-two-year-old failure.

BOOK 2: THE SILENT ROOM. A woman presumed dead for fifteen years resurfaces whispering Cass's name.

BOOK 3: THE FINAL THREAD. The conspiracy that shaped Cass's past comes for her directly, and the question stops being who committed the crime and becomes who gets to write the story of a life.

BOOK 4: THE HONEST MAN. A district attorney is found dead in his locked study the night before he unseals the biggest corruption indictment in the city's history.

BOOK 5: THE COLD HOUR. A forensic auditor is killed inside a sealed vault, and the two clocks on her death do not agree.

For readers who love detective duos, fair-play mysteries, and stories about justice that transcend time.
